We offer rowing programs on the beautiful Connecticut River originating from the Middletown John K. Smith Boathouse. The programs are administered through the Middletown Recreation & Community Services Department. We offer rowing programs for anyone aged 13 and up, from novice to experienced, recreational to competitive. Our program currently offers rowing in eight and four person rowing shells.
VIRTUAL ROWING & FITNESS CLASSES
November 2021 - March 2022
Mon / Wed / Thu evenings
Are you an adult rower looking to stay active during our time off the water OR just interested in getting in shape? Join our Central Connecticut Rowing Zoom Fitness Classes, held through the Middletown Recreation Department!
Each hour-long session will have a combination of stretching, body-weight exercises and cardio to keep you fit during the winter. A rowing machine or another piece of cardio equipment is suggested, but not necessary, to take part in this class. Stay connected to other like-minded people and meet new ones as we gear up for rowing on the river next year or more on-land classes BY the river!

Our goal is to teach the beginner to row as well as improve and refine the experienced rower’s skills. Each session includes instruction from experienced coaches. We also offer the opportunity to train for fall regatta racing.
We are looking for experienced coxswains, and we can also train anyone that may be interested in this position.
