Central Connecticut Rowing (CCR) is a rowing club based in Middletown, Connecticut.  The mission of CCR is to promote rowing and the growth of the rowing community within Middletown and throughout Connecticut.

We offer rowing programs on the beautiful Connecticut River originating from the Middletown John K. Smith Boathouse.  The programs are administered through the Middletown Recreation & Community Services Department.  We offer rowing programs for anyone aged 13 and up, from novice to experienced, recreational to competitive. Our program currently offers rowing in eight and four person rowing shells.

Central Connecticut Rowing (CCR) has received a $1,000.00 grant from the Community Foundation of Middlesex County to go toward the purchase of a quality used eight person rowing shell.

Late summer sweep rowing offers the ability for all levels to improve and build on their present rowing skills and fitness. You must have completed a novice class to sign up for the Advanced classes.

Wednesday / Friday evenings

Learn or improve rowing technique and general fitness with outdoor classes by the river! Our rowing coach will help you build core, arm and leg muscle strength and work on rowing technique and cardio on rowing machines outside, by the river

FALL ROWING

Sep 9 to Oct 12, 2023

Tuesday / Thursday evenings and

Saturday mornings

This program offers the ability for intermediate and advanced rowers to improve and build on their present rowing skills and fitness. 

If interested, fall offers the opportunity for more experienced rowers (ages 21+) to race in up to 3 regattas. (Racing costs will be extra).

Our goal is to teach the beginner to row as well as improve and refine the experienced rower’s skills. Each session includes instruction from experienced coaches. We also offer the opportunity to train for fall regatta racing.

COXSWAINS WANTED!

We are looking for experienced coxswains, and we can also train anyone that may be interested in this position.
